The Transforming Joy of Christmas is the perfect Love for all of us, that came as a vulnerable human baby. A life that not only offers us the unconditional love that can set us free to grow from needing to loving, but also gives us illustrated instructions on how to do it.
Joy to the world for Love has come. Let us rejoice and open our hearts to receive it. Come, Lord Jesus, free us to love.

That IS a beautiful picture, Eileen. Realized I’ve not seen such a bold shot of expressive affection and love toward the baby Jesus. Appreciate the possibility of moving from needing to loving; this ignition in our relationship with God will certainly transform all our other relationships.

Thanks, Diana for your thoughtful response. It’s a life time process. Not so very long ago, I recognized that I was a “bottomless pit of needs and wants” and that kept me from truly loving others. Transferring those needs to God and receiving the grace to grow is making a huge difference. We are all dealt a different hand, so cannot really judge one another or even ourselves. The good news is that we are only called to play the hand we are dealt. The humbling news is that often we discover we “are not playing with a full deck!” 🙂

Your comment on the needing – and your elaboration – reminded me of a great, easy read by Ed Welch, When People Are Big and God is Small. He talks about the leaky love tank many of us are. I appreciate your honesty on the lessons you continue to learn and actually are finding progress through. Heartening!
Happy new year.
